Emmanuel G. Maneno is a committed fisheries officer and aquaculture specialist, with a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Science and Fisheries Technology from the University of Dar es Salaam, Class of 2020. Currently serving at the Ruhila Aquaculture Development Centre (RADC) under the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries, he specializes in fish seed production, farmer outreach, and promoting best aquaculture practices.
He has collaborated with several parties, including private farms, governmental entities, and international organizations, enhancing the development of the fishing sector. His expertise has been acknowledged in both national and international media, including BBC London, TBC Radio and TV, Star TV, ITV, and Mwananchi Daily, where he has provided insights on sustainable aquaculture. Emmanuel attributes his success to UDSM for providing him with technical expertise, contemporary aquaculture instruments, and a robust foundation that has facilitated his advancement in the sector.
He promotes advancements in aquaculture education, encompassing greater practical training, improved access to research journals, policy integration within curricula, and compulsory computer literacy for students.
